History and Development

Holy Family Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Sasthamangalam in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Trivandrum.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1933 by the mission work of Rev. Fr. Mathai Malancharuvil and Rev. Fr. Joshua OIC. This church was established and blessed by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios in 1933. This Parish was rebuilt and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1965.
