History and Development

St. Antony’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Pongumoodu in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Trivandrum.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1974. This Parish was established in1975 by the mission works of Rt. Rev. Msgr. C.T. Kuruvila and Rev. Fr. Daniel Kadakampallil.  It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  The church was renovated by Rev.Fr.Stephen Thiruvalil OIC in 1990 and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  Again it was renovated in 2010 and was blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
