History and Development

Our Lady of La Salath  Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Velloorkonam  in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of  Nedumangadu. The first community of this parish was formed in 1940 by the mission work of the Franciscan Brothers. This Parish was established by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios in 1940.  This Parish was rebuilt and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1954.
