History and Development
St.Thomas Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kattaikonam in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kazhakoottam. The First community of this Parish was formed in 1965. This Parish was established in 1965 and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. Rev. Fr. Mathai Malancharuvil was the First Vicar. A new shrine was built during the time of Rev.Fr.Philip Kannamkulam in 2008 and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis in 12th March 2008.
