History and Development

St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Vengoor in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Ayoor.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1956.This Parish was established in 1956 and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The church was renovated by Rev. Fr. Daniel Kulangara in 1999. A new presbytery was built by Rev. Dr. Johnson Kakkanatt and blessed by Most Rev. Joshua Mar Ignathios in 2005. It celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the time of Rev. Dr. Johnson Kakkanatt in 2006 and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
