History and Development

Sacred Heart Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Adoor in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Adoor.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1934. This Parish was established in 1934 and was blessed by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios.  Rt. Rev. Cheppattu Philipos Remban was the first vicar. The church was renovated during the time of Rt. Rev Mathew Thuruthiyil Remban in 1985 and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  The Reunion Celebrations in 1977 & 2017 were held in this parish.  Most Rev. Thomas Mar Anthonios is from this parish. The church was rebuilt during the time of Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Nediath and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 19^th September 2017.
