History and Development

St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Chepra in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Ayoor.   The first community of this parish was formed in 1971. This Parish was established on 8^th September 1971 during the time of Rev. Fr. Louis Philipose.  It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The new church was built and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 2^nd February 2008. A new Presbytery was built and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 17^th November 2012.
