History and Development

St. Joseph’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Elamannoor in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Adoor.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1950. This Parish was established in 1951 and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  A presbytery was built during the time of Rev. Fr. Varghese Kodithara in 2005 and blessed by Most Rev. Joshua Mar Ignathios. The church was renovated during the time of Rev. Fr. Varghese Kodithara in 2007 and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
