History and Development

Vimala Hrudaya  Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kavadithala in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Trivandrum.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1933 by the mission work of the Franciscan Brothers.  This Parish was established in 1933 by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios.  New church was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1977. The Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Arun Areth was held in 2008.  The new church was built on 2009 by Rev. Fr. Thomas Naickamparampil and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
