History and Development
Sacred Heart Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kallayam in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Trivandrum. The first community of this parish was formed in 1962. This Parish was established in 1962 by the mission work of Rev. Fr. Mathai Malancharuvil. It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1962. In 2010 the church was renovated by Rev. Fr. Nelson Valiyaveettil and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis. In 2012 it celebrated the Golden Jubilee.
