History and Development
St. George Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Punnala in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Punalur. The first community of this parish was formed in 1967 by the Mission work of Rev. Fr. Thomas Neriyattil. This Parish was established in1969 by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The church was blessed on 12th January 2013 by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
