History and Development

Our Lady of Assumption   Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Karakulam in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Nedumangadu.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1933. This Parish was established by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios in 1933. This Parish was renovated and blessed by the Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  In 2008 it celebrated the Platinum Jubilee and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
