History and Development

St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kottarakara (Pulamon) in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kottarakkara.The first community of this parish was formed in 1945 by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios by the mission work Rev. Fr. Joseph Palathumthalackal. This Parish was established in 1965 and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.  A presbytery was built in 1999 by Rev. Fr. Albert Vadakkemuriyil and blessed by Late Cyril Mar Baselios Catholicos. The Foundation of the New church  was laid by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 20-8-2017.  The new church was blessed on 15-11-2019 by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
