History and Development

 

St. George Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Chengamanadu in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kottarakkara. This Parish was established in 1946 by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios.  The new church was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios on 23rd April 1947. The third new church was built by Rev.Fr. John Kizhakkakara and on 11th April 2015 it was blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
