History and Development

Holy Trinity Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kizhakketheruvu in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kottarakkara.The first community of this parish was formed in 1933 by the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios by the mission work of Rev. Fr. Alexander Valiyaveettil.  This Parish was rebuilt in 1973 and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. Most Rev. Joshua Mar Ignathios, the Bishop of Mavelikkara is from this parish.
