History and Development

 

St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Nilamel in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kilimanoor.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1954.This Parish was established in 1955. It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1956.  The church was renovated by Fr. Cheriyan Mayickal in 2000 and blessed by Late Cyril Baselios Catholicos.
